About 85 miles East of Downtown Los Angeles is Forest Falls. Forest Falls is located in the San Bernardino National Forest. Usually it is easy to hike up several layers of the falls but when I went the river was pretty high and the trail was gone.

In the 20's Los Angeles had streetcars that ran throughout the city but between the tire companies and the Automobile Club of Southern California they managed to convince everyone that ripping out the streetcars and putting in super highways was the way of the future.

Now we are trying to get the Downtown Los Angeles Streetcars back on track.

One of the main reasons why I came to this meeting was to see inside the this theatre. It is one of many that have been around since the early 1900's but sits unused most of the time but many are starting to reopen.

I attended the Townhall Los Angeles luncheon at the beautiful Biltmore Millenium in Downtown Los Angeles to see guest speaker Rick Caruso and to meet up with a couple attendees. If you don't know who Rick Caruso is he is the developer that does those Disney like outdoor malls like The Grove. Apparently he is looking to run for the mayor of Los Angeles. In his speech he stated that he just wanted to go in and make changes and get out. Of course all of the changes he spoke about was changes that would benefit his development company. No thanks Caruso!

Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA: Goodbye Wine Cellar, Hook's Pointe, Lost Bar...we will miss you!

For almost 20 years I worked at the Disneyland Hotel in the Wine Cellar as a Sommelier. Just a week after these photos were taken this area was closed permanently for a remodeled restaurant and pool and slide. My son literally grew up here...it's sad to see it go.
